Description

Electron microscopes produce a magnified image of a specimen's interaction with a beam composed of high-energy electrons, usually ranging from 50 to 200 kilovolts, by either deflecting electrons off of atoms to create shadows (transmission electron microscopes) or by measuring back-scattered and secondarily released electrons (scanning electron microscopes).
