Gene-Environment Interactions (GEI) Today

What do complex ‘gene-environment’ interactions mean for biomedicine, biopharma, and public health today? Exploring this question through the case of asthma.

This project aims to deepen understanding and public discussions about human genomic research and genome profiling by examining what experts today mean by complex gene-environment and gene-gene interactions and exploring their strategies for unpacking these. It also aims to map out the current concerns of those already involved in asthma research and public health aspects of asthma, and, in particular, ascertain their views of the roles of personalized genomic medicine in reshaping not only the asthma research field and biopharma of asthma, but public health initiatives related to asthma.
