CHF hosted an all-ages, Independence Day–themed science fair. Robert Hicks, director of the Mütter Museum, appeared in period costume to talk about medicine in the Civil War.

Polymer chemist Tom Twardowski produced smoke and colors and even a few bangs. CHF’s Rosie Cook performed a rainbow of color experiments and led visitors in making their own tie-dye and lava lamps.
